Northmen end year with strong effort after losing final series against host team

      The Rayburn Construction Junior A Northmen are done for the season. The squad lost in the final round of the national Minto Cup junior lacrosse championships in Coquitlam, British Columbia after dropping two games in a best of three series against the host team.

Junior Bengals claim Ontario Championship
      A tense 16 inning final game ended with the Orangeville Bengals junior team winning 2-1 over Dundas to claim the Ontario Baseball Association Provincial Championship on August 22. The Bengals went to the 'C' division tournament in London, Ontario after winning the North Dufferin Baseball League junior title in August.

Athletic end season
      The Orangeville Athletic premier division team are done for the season after losing their playoff game 1-0 to the Orillia SC. In what coach Dave Lewars described as a "frustrating finish," the Athletic missed two penalty shots in their final game. The squad ended the regular season in sixth position in the York Region Soccer League's top division with a 5-3- 10 record.

Borg tops leaderboard in CJGA tournament
      Orangeville’s Ryan Borg won the Nike Golf Junior Championship boys 15-19 division after finishing with a 78-76-75 +13 in the final round. The three day event took place at the Royal Niagara Golf Club in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was the final Canadian tournament of the Canadian Junior Golfers Association summer tour.
