Westside rally for win
From the opening jump off, both squads were intent to try and set the pace, swapping baskets through the first quarter ending the frame tied at 9-9. In the second, Westside seemed to drop off the pace. Sloppy play and poor ball control combined with an inability to get to the rebounds, soon found the Thunder behind by 4 going into the half.
Each team added six points through the third quarter before Westside managed to get going in the final 8 minutes.
Lead by veterans Tori Woods and Jessica Kottelenberg with 8 points each, Orangeville rallied to take the lead. When the final buzzer sounded, they had managed put a 33-25 win into the record book.
Westside finished the regular season in second place holding a 9-1 record heading into the semi finals on Wednesday against Erin (results unavailable at press time) then hopefully into the District 10 to be held Tuesday November 15.
