Branch 233 was rollin‚ rollin, rollin‚ to keep those turkeys movin’‚ at last Saturday’s Turkey Roll. Seventy-five of these 17pound birds will likely make their debut on the winners‚ tables this Christmas. And if this wasn’t exciting enough! Our six competitors bowled us over when their delivery of the Zone Bowling Trophy from their 1st Place win in Alliston was turned over to the Branch. This is a first in this field for Branch 233 and thanks to the Super Six, we get to host the Zone Tournament next year. In the cool, cool, cool of the evening, the supper crowd enjoyed roast-beef-on-abun and Caesar salad and many stayed on for Karaoke provided by Howling Wolves. All in all, Branch 233 kicked off the beginning of the Christmas Season activities with some enjoyable successes. Congratulations all!
On Sunday morning, our Youth-Education Chairman Comrade Ed Kelly welcomed winning students of the Branch Poster & Literary Competitions and their parents. Accompanied by Branch President and Colour Party, students from Grades 1 to 8 were presented with Certificates and cash prizes.
Afterwards, our guests were treated to a light lunch prepared by our Ladies Auxiliary. At 1 p.m. our monthly Euchre got underway with five tables progressing through 15 games. This is a great leisure activity and the Sports Committee work hard to make it that way for everyone, so please come out and give your support. Our next monthly Euchre Tournament will be held on Sunday, January 11th since the President’s New Year’s Levee on January 1st takes precedence over all other Branch activities.
