AIDS and Africa
Recently on the CBC news there was a report on the aids plague in Africa. Also Stephen Lewis held speeches in Ontario to draw attention to the situation in Africa and what we can do.
Indeed, the results of a promiscuous lifestyle are horrendous. In contrast to Africa, aids in North America is largely restricted to homosexuals. But there is one country in Africa that shows the way out of this disaster.
Uganda is that country. Its president, Yoweri Musevenic and his Christian wife, put strong emphasis on abstinence and martial fidelity and as a result their HIV rate dropped form 18% in 1996 to 5-7% today (taken from an article by Tim Bloedow, “The United Nations Devilish Agenda.)
What is so disturbing is that Stephen Lewis, who as a Jew and a son of Abraham, coming from a privileged people, to whom were entrusted the scriptures of the Old Testament and who were the recipients of the Ten Commandments through Moses (Romans 3:12) should undoubtedly know that this epidemic is the result of transgressing the commandment, “Thou shalt not commit adultery” (which includes all sexual deviations).
He apparently does not acknowledge this and consequently fails to point to Uganda as an example, that there is hope for this continent. For Uganda understood that in keeping God’s commandments there is great reward (Psalm 19:7, 11). But Stephen Lewis puts all his energy in a medical “solution” so that promiscuous living may have no consequences.
That is not to say that the victims of this disease should not be helped in any way possible. But all what these drugs do is extend life and do not solve the root cause of this disease.
Failing to point to the real solution is to me, criminal negligence.
Uganda, a nation of black people, is an example to Africa and the rest of the world what a return to wholesome living can accomplish. Blessed is the people whose God is the Lord. (Psalm 33:11).
