What looked like a bust at the beginning of last week turned out to be a surprising success for Branch 233 by the time December 31st rolled around. A near-capacity crowd complete with the customary New Year’s Eve paraphernalia rang in 2006 with gusto! On January 1st, Branch President Frank Lomack greeted and treated members and guests to a traditional eggnog and buffet goodies at the President’s New Year’s Day Levy.

It looks like 2006 will be another busy year for Branch 233. The winter/spring lineup of Sports activities at Branch, Zone and District levels has something for everyone . . . darts, euchre, bowling, snooker, cribbage, horseshoes & golf are some of the events taking place over the next 6 months. Good luck to our two teams competing in the Zone Dart Tournament this weekend and to our Zone winning team of 5-pin bowlers who will compete at the District level on January 14th in Midland. Members can still sign up for Zone Cribbage, January 21st, Darts Doubles & Singles, February 4th and Zone Euchre, February 18th.

Members and their guests won’t want to miss this Friday’s Members Night Dinner, the theme is “Let’s talk ham, not turkey” accompanied by scalloped potatoes for $4.00. Our “Everyone Welcome” Sunday Breakfast is on for January 15th from 9 am until 12 Noon.

Lest We Forget.
