Hello once again from Branch 220. We had a busy April with all the usual meetings, Monday Euchre, Thursday Bid Euchre, Saturday Meat Spins, Cadets, Darts League and so on.
We extend sincere thanks to our membership and community for a successful "Benefit Dance" held here April 15 for Veteran Don and Paulette Smith. Special thanks to DJ Terrence Anthony, our own Ladies' Auxiliary for the lovely lunch, Comrade John Cunningham and local businesses who donated fabulous prizes: Giant Tiger, IGA, John & Lin's No Frills, Creative Hair Salon, Marj's Hair Salon, Melina Prentice, Phil & Lisa Norris, The Bride's Studio, Rose Elsdon of Branch 233, Orangeville, Joan Nasato, Linda Wright, Devil's Pulpit and, especially Sue Emeny for being our chair and
decorating the hall for this event. This was a perfect example of what Legion is all about!
Our volunteers haven't slowed down either during April they have refinished the hardwood floor in the Games' Room and it is beautiful looks like new.
We will hold a Smart Serve Course on Sunday, April 30 only $45.00, call to register 925-3800. This is a course that everyone could use, and with it, you can earn some extra money bartending.
And since I may not be able to do this column every week due to some health issues, I'll update you all right now on what's lined up for May. The 5th, our euchre team heads to Essex to (we hope) become Legion Provincial Champions. On the 7th we hold our monthly Breakfast & Flea Market call to reserve a table to sell your wares, only $10.
Hoping for some nice weather soon, 'till next time yours in comradeship.
