Penz wins Thea award
Jennifer Penz with Thea award The beaming smile on the lovely face of Jennifer Penz says it all.
She won a prestigious Thea award at the 30th anniversary Association of Community Theatres of Central Ontario (ACTCO) awards, held Saturday evening at the sumptuous
Paradise Centre' in Concord.
Jennifer, who lives in Orangeville, won the Best Supporting Actress award for her portrayal of "Diana", the vamp with a heart of gold, in The Caledon Townhall Players production of "Lend Me A Tenor."
Two of her fellow performers were also nominated: John Carter, for best supporting actor for his hilarious portrayal of the musical bellhop, and Andrew Welch for best actor in a comedy, as "Max", a truly demanding role, which required a multi-faceted performance from this gifted actor.
The ACTCO award is a high watermark standard to which community theatre groups aspire.
It is a tremendous tribute to the whole cast and crew of "Lend Me A Tenor" that these three were so honoured.
The Caledon Townhall Players are terribly proud of them all and look forward to next season with renewed enthusiasm.
