Benefiting everyone
I was wondering why Mr. Reed said that very few people benefit from the windmills? Does Mr. Reed have no electricity? EVERYONE benefits from the wind power generated.
If we don't smarten up we will not have enough electricity for the future. Or it will be unaffordable. The windmills are the safest way to supplement our increasing needs. Melancthon and Amaranth townships are flat windy areas perfect for windmills.
We have windmills in our back yard; they have improved our interest and enjoyment of our property. They are super quiet, 90% of the time you cannot hear them. I love watching the speed they turn and what direction they are going that day!
Progressive people accept and enjoy the concept of needing them to be part of our future. I had a reporter tell me he would love to live here amongst the windmills and finds them beautiful.
The windmills amaze many people. That dispels the lower land value myths. Hundreds of people stop to take pictures. Would they take pictures if they found the windmills offensive?
I think as Canadians we need to smarten up and understand that change is necessary for our future the farmer can grow everything we need to survive. Why are we suffering the consequences of high fuel prices? Depending on other parts of the world, to supply us with fuel. The farmer is waiting for big companies to come in and build refineries to convert our crops into fuel (ethanol).
We can keep the wealth and growth in our own country. Should we not be
responsible for our own energy needs? I am thankful that council members can look past some of these negative opinions and untrue statements, and let the farmer take on a new means of supplying the
consumer with a product, that has only positive affects to the environment.
Mr. Reed, when is the right time and where is the right place?
