Impairment alleged in cruiser crash

A Georgetown woman faces impaired and dangerous driving charges after an unoccupied car rolled into a police cruiser during a traffic stop.

On April 5, at about 10:41 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint about a vehicle traveling all over the road as it was proceeding northbound on Highway 10 in Mono. It was reported that the vehicle had stopped briefly in the middle of the Highway at Camilla and then continued on.

The officers located the vehicle and made a stop. Police allege that when the driver exited the vehicle, she left it in gear and it hit their police cruiser causing minor damage.

Christa Pytel, 30, was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving, and driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg/100 mL and is to appear in Orangeville court on May 9.
