Tennis club ready for 2006

2006-04-27 / Sports

The spring cleaning is done and now the Orangeville Tennis Club is ready to kick-off their 2006 summer season.

Things will officially get away for the group this Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., when they will be hosting an open house at the tennis courts and clubhouse located in Rotary Park.

In addition to a free BBQ lunch, the day is an opportunity to get out and sign up for many of the programs offered, meet the pros as well as mingle with other club members and play some tennis.

OTC offers a number of opportunities for their members both young and old.

With players starting as young as five and up with varying degrees of experience from beginner to both provincially and nationally ranked players, there is something offered for all.

As well, traditional lessons for those looking to learn, the club also offers a house league program, up to more competitive teams playing in an interclub league featuring Inglewood, Belfountain, Erin, Bolton, Palgrave, Caledon, Caledon East and Mono.

Kids are especially welcome to the group. Junior memberships for the 2006 season start at $75 and include six group lessons with a certified instructor as well as a Wilson Jr. racquet.

There is a Kid's Fun Night on Wednesday evenings between May 10th and June 21st and summer camps being offered to those wishing to sign up between July 17-21 and July 24-28.
