Mother's Day may be over but it isn't too late to do something special for her.

The Egg Farmers of Ontario (EFO) are looking for a dozen "eggstra-energy" mothers in the province to treat to a spa getaway.

"Moms need energy to get through the day," said Bev Callaghan, registered dietitian and spokesperson for the organization.

"We are looking for moms who have the eggstra energy, as well as providing information for moms looking for more energy."

Ms. Callaghan reports that a new Ipsos Reid survey says 77 per cent of moms are starved for energy and she believes eggs, being a good source of protein, is a great way to solve the problem. In that same survey, 82 per cent of moms said they would like to do more for their families.

The Eggsta Energy contest, according to Ms. Callaghan is a great way to promote eggs and celebrate mothers.

"Eggs can be used at any meal," she says.

Winning prizes include a spa package and selected moms will be treated to an all-expenses-paid trip to Toronto in July to meet a panel of leading health and wellness experts and participate in an energy roundtable.
