Studio III becoming leader in dance
STUDIO III DANCERS continue to show well in competition, continuing to earn not just the accolades of fellow competitors and judges but have backed that up by bringing home a number of medals and ribbons. Contributed Photo Studio III Dance has become a leader in dance training according to examiner.
During the 2005/06 dance season, 34 students took part in the Brian Foley ADAPT Jazz and Tap exams.
Faye and Brian Foley, along with their son Ryan attended the studio to examine students performing the syllabus they created 25 years ago.
The Foley's comented on how well the students are doing especially since most of them had only been dancing for 2 _ years.
Not only have students progressed in Jazz and Tap, they have also done extremely well participating in Royal Academy of Dance ballet exams.
To date, over 30 students have taken part in Ballet exams this season with wonderful success. In both types of exams, marks have been up to the 90 percent range.
Owner of the studio, Virginia Williams, is very pleased with every students' progress. " We have highly qualified teachers who can motivate and bring the best out of students with a fun creative teaching style. Exams in dance provide the dancer with a goal to work towards and they encourage active learning. The results also provide unbiased feedback for th dancer as examiners are always from outside of the studio. Studio III encourages dancers to participate in exams so they may then continue into a teaching certification program after the age of 18. They could then be employed at a reputable dance studio een while they attend University or College furthering other career choices."
Studio III Dance also offers an Intensive Dance Training program which includes participating in competitions.
As dance is a theatrical art, stage work is an important aspect.
This year, the 25 students competing have done their absolute best
bringing home 19 Golds, 16 High Silvers and 9 Silvers in two competitions.
