Northmen Major Tykes start with loss to Brampton

The Orangeville Northmen Major Tyke team started their 2006 season at home with an Exhibition Game against the Caledon Bandits.

Orangeville's Travis Brown started the scoring early in the game, assisted by Ben Anyon.

A few minutes later, Caledon came back to tie the game.

The remainder of the first period and the second period were a see saw battle between these two teams, with Orangeville's Mitchell Elsley scoring the teams next three goals to put them in the lead 4-3.

Kyle Waters scored in the third period, assisted by Mitchell Elsley to put the final score for this game at 5-3 for Orangeville.

Caledon had a hard time getting shots past Rylan Hartley, who played an outstanding game in net for Orangeville.

The team opened their season opener on May 10, 2006 when the team travelled down the road to take on Brampton.

Orangeville's Travis Brown started the scoring early in the game, but Brampton came back and scored three goals by the end of the first period to reclaim the lead.

It was back and forth through the second period with Orangeville scoring 3 goals and Brampton scoring an additional four.

Both teams played strong in the third period and the final tally in this game was 7 - 4 for Brampton.

Orangeville's goals in the second period came from Scott Del Zotto and Mitchell Elsley (2), on passes from Tyler Nother and Travis Brown. Rylan Hartley played a great game in net for Orangeville.
