On June 10th, my team of 5 ladies (called the "A to DD's") hosted a Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament to raise funds for the Weekend To End Breast Cancer 60 km. Walk. We are walking because we CAN'T walk away.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank first of all, the Dufferin Northern Peel Anglers' & Hunters Association in Orangeville for donating the use of their clubhouse for this event and for looking after the refreshments. I would also like to thank Chris & Eddi Wright who came up from Brampton to volunteer their time to "run" the poker tournament for us and Lori Mournahan who also volunteered her time to help out that evening.

A special thank you goes to all of the players who came out to play, and hopefully had a good time doing it.

Your financial contribution has been turned in to the Princess Margaret Foundation already and will be put to good use.

All money donated to the Foundation goes to help not only research, but to supply equipment for the treatment centres, and to help those families in need during the treatment process and beyond.

It was such a success that we hope to host another one soon! In the meantime, if you would like to make a cash donation you can do so by accessing our webpage at endcancer.ca and then entering either our team name or one of our names under "donate".

Everyone has a story about why they are walking and trying to raise these funds.
