Branch 233, Orangeville

Coming up this Sunday, August 6th is Branch 233's most pleasurable event of the year; its 11th Annual Veterans Picnic.

It's a special occasion that allows us to honour our living Veterans and give back a small token of our appreciation for what they did for us.

Everyone is welcome to come out and join in the celebration that starts at 12 Noon.

Official Welcome commences at 2 o'clock, followed by a gift presentation, cake cutting and entertainment.

Pre-registered Veterans will be eligible to receive a gift from the Branch.

On Saturday evening from 9 p.m. until 1, our karaoke entertainer is Jill Phillips 'Howling Wolves'.

August 14th is the deadline to book your seat for our trip to the CNE for Warriors' Day, August 19th. Tickets are $20 per person and Veterans go free.

Sign-up sheets are posted for the Branch's August 27th Annual Golf Scramble.

For whomever it may concern, The Mystery of the Missing Keys has been solved - they were found nestled snugly in a drawer, briefly hidden from view.

The summer is passing quickly, with everyone very busy everywhere you turn. Since I do not like hot weather, I just keep reminding myself it'll soon be fall. But for those of you who love the heat, I hope you're having a great summer.

In just a few days it will once again be "Fiddleville" with music, sales and all the festivities. Oh yes, and of course, the fiddle contest.

Branch 220 will have, as always delicious food available 24/7 starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, through to noon on Sunday the 13th. Also, on Saturday the 12th, we're holding a giant Parking Lot Garage Sale from 8 a.m. to noon, with all proceeds going into our building fund.

On Friday, Aug. 11 we'll host an evening of dancing and live country music, from 9 p.m. t0 1 a.m., with Kristin Scott. For those of you who don't know, Kristin is the daughter of Gord and Audie Henry, and she is a great entertainer! Free Admission Everyone welcome.

Then we'll do it all again on Saturday the 12th. More super entertainment provided by the band "Cellar Door' from 9 to 1. Free Admission Everyone Welcome.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Fiddleville weekend, and hoping to see you at the church service on Sunday at the arena . Until next time. Yours in comradeship.

Lest We Forget!
