The day dawned hot and sunny for last Sunday's Annual Veterans Picnic. Over 50 Veterans and their families turned out to receive tokens of appreciation from Branch 233. As an added bonus, we were provided with 6 cadets from the Lorne Scots Cadet Corps who were on hand to run errands and assist the Veterans.
As well, we sent a Colour Party to the fairgrounds to participate in the Drumhead Service for the County of Dufferin's 125th celebration. The Branch wishes to thank all the volunteers who took part in this memorable event.
Tickets are going fast for our trip to the CNE for Warriors' Day, August 19th. We will be entering our Colour Party in the Parade, accompanied by the Sandhill Pipe Band, hoping to take hold of that 1st place award. $20. will get you a seat on the bus and into the CNE. Veterans ride for free. Call 519-942-9035 to book your seat by August 14th.

As you read this, Fiddleville festivities are well underway. The campground was filling up by Monday.
Those delightfully decorated fiddles are all over town. Shop windows are looking great.
There are lots of extra people around and here at the branch we're all busy preparing for food service non-stop from 4 p.m. Friday through to noon Sunday.
The branch is smelling of delicious roast beef and lots of other goodies.
For Friday night, we have a great party planned with Kristin Scott and her band, live. On Saturday night, another great time, with live music by the Cellar Door.
Both events are from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. and both are free admission. Everyone is welcome! Hope to see lots of you there!
The week after Fiddleville is pretty quiet just the clean up and aftermath, storing all the "fiddle" stuff away again. On Tuesday the 15th, we hold the regular Foot Kare Clinic, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and that evening is the executive meeting at 7 p.m. and so until next time Yours In Comradeship.
Lest We Forget!
