Animal hospital holding open house

2006-10-19 / Local News

Orangeville Animal Hospital, along with other members in the pet care industry, are bridging the gap in community education by hosting an open house that focuses on educational topics in promoting a healthy lifestyle for the "four-legged companions".

The first annual open house is designed to educate clients on nutrition, the flea battle and pet dental care.

At an alarming rate, pets, as well as people, are increasing in obesity.

Those attending will learn from a nutritional speaker how to battle the bulge and promote a longer life span for our four legged family members.

Battle of fleas is a never ending concern for the community. Those present will learn about its life cycle, how fleas affect your pet and how to evacuate them from your home.

Dental care is another leading concern, as it can affect other organs in the body. Attendees will learn how to control plaque and tartar and get rid of that doggy breath.

As well as learning a few things about nutrition, flea control and dental care, those attending will be given a tour of the facility, a surgical demonstration and refreshments.

Anyone interested in the open house, held at the Orangeville Animal Hospital this Saturday from noon to 3 p.m., can contact Samantha Gagnon at 519-941-2275.
