Flecker joins ambassador circle
Mike Flecker has recently been chosen by the United Nations Association of Canada to join its ambassador circle.
The circle actively promotes the work of the United Nations through seminars, group discussions and other events and promotes peace in communities across the country.
Mr. Flecker said those selected are generally very active in their community, which he is as a member of the Lions Club and other groups in town. He also has six degrees from Canada, India and England.
He said he's happy to help anyone in the community who asks for his help, explaining that helping people is something that was instilled in him through his family, as it's
always been a priority of his family to be active in the community where they live. He added that helping people is what brings peace into a community.
"Richness in a country is no good unless there is richness in your heart," he said.
The retired educator and former town councillor is also seeking to return as an Orangeville councillor.
