BY MARIBEL TOWNSEND Branch 220, Shelburne

On Saturday, Dec. 2, the army is invading Shelburne! Some 400 Personnel from Base Borden will be here at Branch 220, as well as at the Fiddle Park where you can witness the field exercises and the fairgrounds where there will be a full field kitchen and you can sample the fare. Booths in the Warriors Hall will be manned by personnel to answer questions from the public. This is an excellent opportunity to see how our armed forces operate.

Sunday, Dec. 3 is our Monthly Breakfast/Flea market from 9 to 12:30 in the Warriors Hall. There are lots of vendors for the flea market with great ideas for your Christmas shopping. The big, delicious breakfast is prepared and served by our wonderful volunteer crew and is only $4 for adults and $2.50 for children.

On Saturday, Dec. 9 our Ladies' Auxiliary will hold their Annual Christmas Craft/Bake Sale from 9:30 to 2:00 in the Museum Hall, as well as the Club Room. There are over 20 vendors so far, as well as the ladies' own large table with 'White Elephant' items and delicious baked goods.

The ladies sent one team of four to District Euchre on Saturday, Nov. 25 and they tied for 2nd place so will go on to represent the L.A. at the Provincial Level in March '07 in Woodstock.

Next is the Branch's Annual Kids Christmas Party - Sunday, Dec. 10 from 1 to 4 in the Warriors Hall. This event is for the children and/or grandchildren of our members and there is usually a charge for it, but this year it is free! There will be lots of fun things to do, including a 'Bouncy Castle' along with treats, a filled Christmas stocking for each child, and yes - Santa and Mrs. Santa will be there! We do need to know how many to prepare for so please be sure to come in or call (519) 925-3800 to register at the bar. The deadline to register is Dec. 3.

Last but not least, our Annual Food Drive/Toy Drive is on to help those less fortunate folks in our community. New, unwrapped toys and/or non-perishable food items may be left at the Branch in the gaily wrapped containers.

Until next times, yours in comradeship.

Branch 233, Orangeville

Our regular Friday night dinners will not be available this week due to kitchen facilities in use for Sunday's Seniors Xmas Party.

For over 50 years Branch 233 has been the proud host of this December event, serving over 200 Senior Citizens from the Community.

Chairman Bruce Lumsden starts organizing months in advance to ensure our guests are well taken care of.

Our greeters will be stationed in the lobby to welcome guests, our coat check people will look after their outerwear, our entertainers will lead the carol-sing and our servers will provide a Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings.

On Saturday evening Karaoke entertainment will be provided by Music Talks from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.

Lest We Forget!
