How soon we forget?

I understand they launched the Dufferin County History Book recently at Marsville. I am wondering why none of our family were contacted to submit our history to the book seeing as we lived at Price's Corners for 17 years. Most of those years my father Samuel Ross Price was the caretaker of the Price's Corners Presbyterian Church, Price's Corners Cemetery, and Marsville School. It has been brought to my attention that Florence Bayne lived most of her life in that house on the corner known as Price's Corners. She never moved into that house until after 1958 which is the year my sister and her family moved out which would have made Florence in her 60's when she moved into the house on the corner. Florence and Arnold Bayne lived on the twelfth line up the road where her parents lived most of her life.

I understand that there is a list in the back of the book of all of the people that lived in Dufferin County and not one of our family is listed. My father Samuel Ross Price, his wife Verna Bessie (Skipper) Price, there 6 daughters, Betty, Gwen, Dollene, Sadie, Merle, and Dorothy all lived at that residence. My sister Gwen married George Fendley and had 2 daughters Lee, and Jill and one son Richard and they all lived in that house as well. I feel there was a large part of the history of Dufferin County, namely Price's Corners that was missed.

I also understand that there is very little in the book about Marsville School. I have a write up that Mr. Irwin Henderson wrote on the history of the school, I believe at the closing of Marsville School. I also have pictures of the students at that school that were taken over the years dating back to when my father attended that school up to the time that I attended and I am the youngest of our family. I also have the attendance record from 1908 when my father and Aunt Mabel Price attended

I think if we had been contacted that you were collecting family histories we could have contributed enormously. If you weren't contacting people for their histories then someone left out a lot of information.

I am writing this to the paper as my family went and bought several of the books at the launch and were not allowed to see the books prior and got them home only to find out we were not included. What a disappointment as I feel my parents contributed to the community and church while they were there and I would like the local citizens to know that we did exist and still do.
