What a busy, hectic weekend around here with troops from Mount Denison Armory in Toronto everywhere. They were on manoeuvres to learn and practice what would be necessary in the event of any disaster. Our power failure and nasty weather gave them some hands on experience. We were hopping to keep up with sales of snacks, sandwiches and such. I must say, what a delightful change to deal with so many wellmannered people - all so respectful of our members, our property and Club Rules.

The troops were gone early Sunday morning and then

it was time for the breakfast and flea market, both of which were well attended with some 135 breakfasts served up by our wonderful volunteer crew.

This Saturday is our Ladies' Auxiliary Christmas Craft/Bake Sale from 9:30 to 2:00 p.m. with something for everyone! Then on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. is the Annual Kid's Christmas Party for all children and grandchildren of our members. Pre-registration was necessary and I believe we are expecting in excess of 50 children.

Very Important! Thursday, Dec, 7 at 7 p.m. - a Special General Meeting at the branch to present the facts on our "Raise The Roof"

Project conducted over the past 16 or more months and culminating in our being awarded a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation of $75,000 toward the total cost of the project. All members who want to see Branch 220 continue to operate are urged to attend.

Until next time, yours in comradeship.

Branch 233 wrapped up another Seniors Xmas Dinner last Sunday. Over 150 Seniors walked, drove or were bussed to our doors for the feast. Thank you to all volunteers who helped put on this special day for our Seniors.

For a change of pace, we have a Chili Contest happening this Friday. Contestants must be registered by Thursday, December 7th and all entries must be in by 4 pm Friday. Chili will be available for $2 a bowl after the contest.

Lindsay Morgan is back to entertain from 6 p.m. until 10.

Saturday at 1:00 p.m. is our Xmas Turkey and Beef Roll and this event is open to everyone. The evening's Karaoke will be hosted by 'Howling Wolves' from 9 p.m. to 1.

Lest We Forget!
