Juvenile Wolves remain undefeated heading into 07
The Shelburne Juvenile Wolves hockey team, sponsored by Tony’s Street Meat, have had an exemplary year so far in the Georgian Bay League, with a 16 win, 0 loss, 1 tie record to date.
It is a team that all residents of Dufferin County should be proud of, as there are players from all over the County on the team, including Orangeville and Grand Valley. In their 17th game of the
year, on Monday, December 18 in Shelburne, they played against a tough team from Erin-Hillsburgh, and narrowly won the game 2-1, to preserve their no loss record.
Goaltender Jon Johnson did an outstanding job between the pipes to hold the opposition to one goal.
Defenceman Brandon Goodfellow opened the scoring for the Wolves early in the first period on a power play, assisted by Tyler Daigle, and Catlin Conner.
The score remained 1-0 until late in the second period, when Erin-Hillsburgh battled back to tie it. The fans from both teams sat on pins and needles throughout the rest of the game, but late in the third period the Wolves managed to beat Erin-Hillsburgh 2-1, with a blast from the point delivered by defenceman Keegan Elmore, assisted by Catlin Conner, and Justin Pogson.
