The Orangeville Hawks Minor Atom Rep Team kicked off their season with a 41-16 win on the road.

The North Halton Hoosiers hosted Orangeville for the season opener.

The Hoosiers scored the first two points but the Hawks got in the game with Quinn Feeney scoring, followed by Simon Tejani.

The Hoosiers scored another two points, taking advantage of the rebound shots.

Orangeville found their groove in the beginning of the second quarter, scoring a total of fourteen points.

Ciara Jelinor lead the way with six of her twelve game points. Evan Clarke added another four points, with Calen Hogben and Jackson Bolyea adding two each to the total.

The end of the quarter remained strong with Tejani scoring, quickly followed by Mike Angenent.

Feeney made one of many beautiful steals, causing the Hoosiers to foul him while trying to recapture the ball.

Feeney made the foul shot, which was then immediately followed by a fantastic show of teamwork from Feeney and Tejani to Isaiah Yonemitsu who scored the last two points.At half-time, it was Orangeville hold ing a commanding 25-8 lead.

The Hoosiers came back strong with a great defense enabling offense to score four points after the break.

The Hawks responded with Max Luiker and Taylor Gibson putting the pressure on the Hoosiers defense with a constant firing of shots on net.

With the help of some outstanding passes by Feeney and Yonemitsu, Angenent drove to the net securing another four points, giving him a six point game.

The last quarter highlighted great teamwork by pointguard Hogben and Bolyea getting the ball to Jelinor, who took the remaining six of her twelve game points.

The Hoosiers fought back with some quick passing and stealing, scoring another four points.

The final four minutes was dominated by the Orangeville Hawks, showing more outstanding teamwork and landing Yonemitsu another two points.

Feeney finished it off with four more points bringing his game points to nine and wrapping up the scoresheet with Orangeville winning 41-16.
