Muskies even series at 2-2 with pair of wins

      After falling behind by two games in their quarter final playoff, the Shelburne Muskies returned home Saturday night to the familiar confines of the CDRC, looking to even the slate after posting a 6-4 win in Tavistock the night before. With Rob Senay getting the nod to start game three in net for Shelburne, Tavistock tested Senay early and often.

Royals District 4 champs for second year in row
      Tuesday night, the CDDHS Royals Senior Boys basketball team wrapped up their 2006-07 season with a bittersweet win over the Wellington Heights Wolverines to lay claim to the District 4 championship title for the second year in a row.

Oilers hang on to beat Habs
      The M&M Meats Oilers jumped out to an early lead when Mathew Sharpe notched the first goal assisted by Brandon Amos, just 19 seconds into the game. Amos then scored one of his own assisted by Joshua Wilson and John Cummins to give the Oilers a 2 goal lead.

Hall of Fame nominations being accepted
      Nominations are now being accepted for this years candidates to be inducted into the Orangeville Sports Hall of Fame. The 2007 Induction Dinner will take place on Friday April 13th at the TD Waterhouse Room at the Alder St. Arena. The purpose of the Orangeville Sports Hall of Fame is to celebrate those who have honoured our community through sport.

Novice AE Flyers sweep Winterhawks
      The Dairy Queen Novice AE Flyers recently won their OMHA playdown quarter final series. Backed by fabulous goaltending by Jackson Coates and Cameron Sheedy, the Orangeville squad swept the Milton Winterhawks by winning three games straight. The team also is riding a seven game unbeaten streak.

Athletics over Azores 7-1
      The Orangeville Athletics continued their run on the indoor soccer season with a resounding 7-1 win over their opponents, Azores Strikers, on February 4th. The Athletics capitalized early in the first half off a spot kick goal by Darren Skipper followed up by two quick goals from player/coach Peter Kirchberger to put the Athletics up 3-0.
