Novice AE Flyers sweep Winterhawks
The Dairy Queen Novice AE Flyers recently won their OMHA playdown quarter final series. Backed by fabulous goaltending by Jackson Coates and Cameron Sheedy, the Orangeville squad swept the Milton Winterhawks by winning three games straight. The team also is riding a seven game unbeaten streak.
GAME 1: Orangeville 5 Milton 1
The Flyers opened their OMHA playdown series against Milton with a bang on February 14.
After a tense scoreless first period, the Flyers exploded for five unanswered goals enroute to a 5-1 win.
The Flyers had four players with two point performances which included Matthew Berry (2 goals), Trevor Kain (1 goal, 1 assist), Brennan Harwood-Jones (goal, 1 assist) and Craig Maizis (2 assists). Defenceman Ty Mikulik blasted in the other marker with Carson Aitchison and Max Kent collecting single assists.
Trevor Kain was rewarded for his strong game with player of the game honours. GAME 2: Orangeville Milton 3

game two in a convincing 7-pounding of the Winterhawks in Milton on February 15. forward to wrapping series
Orangeville center Craig Maizis led the way by scoring a hat trick as well as Player of the Game honours.
Teammates Matthew Berry (2 goals, 1 assist) and Brennan Harwood-Jones (2 assists) also had big games. Single markers were added by Tony Verta and Carson Aitchison.
Contributing on the assists front were Trevor Kain, Dustyn Pratt, Ty Mikulik and Cody Knight.
GAME 3: Orangeville 8 Milton 1
The Flyers completed the sweep by pounding the Winterhawks by a score of 8-1 on February 19.
Orangeville received their goals from Craig Maizis (1 goal, 2 assists), Zachary Kaiser (1 goal, 2 assists), Matthew Berry (2 goals), Dustyn Pratt (1 goal, 1 assist), Brennan Harwood- Jones (1 goal), Jonathan Plourde (1 goal) and Tony Verta (1 goal).
Chipping in with assists were Tristen Wooley, Cody Knight and Carson Aitchison with two each.
Winger Trevor Kain also added one. Great work on the blue line by Max Kent, Nicholas Gallant, Michael Potton and Ty Mikulik stymied the Winterhawks time and again.
