The Orangeville Athletics continued their run on the indoor soccer season with a resounding 7-1 win over their opponents, Azores Strikers, on February 4th.

The Athletics capitalized early in the first half off a spot kick goal by Darren Skipper followed up by two quick goals from player/coach Peter Kirchberger to put the Athletics up 3-0.

Late in the first half, the Azores Strikers forced a play forward with a three man break-away but Athletics keeper Dan Cornelius, stonewalled their goal attempt keeping a clean sheet to the midway point.

The second half saw three more unanswered goals notched by Dave Murray, Gord Willemse and Kenny Weijers.

Late in the second half, with Orangeville up 6-0, the Azores Strikers led another rush onto the Athletics net to score their lone goal, spoiling Cornelius shut-out.

Immediately following this, Weijers lobbed in the final Athletics goal ending
