Serious gasoline trouble?

Quite apart from any corporate opportunities to profit from reduced supplies of gasoline, the fact that any difficulty with one production source of petroleum products is having such a significant impact on the availability of fuel in the greater Metropolitan Toronto ares should be of major concern to citizens, our military and political system.

As far as distribution is concerned. If a rail strike can also contribute to the interruption of society as a whole, the appropriate military intervention must be automatically available to insure that, apart from the appropriate due process related to legal strike matters, proper fuel distribution can occur.

As we know, at any time our society is subject to some degree of threat from anyone who has some ideological axe to grind.

If the appropriate normal operation of our society can be threatened by one single source of energy production, then there is something very wrong with the management of our energy from a perspective of too few sources of supply and a lack of forethought as to appropriate backup sourced of supplies.

Our political and military attention needs to be immediately focused on a diversity of supply and our military security must protect any facility that can adversely affect our quality of life.

If all it takes to grind us to a halt is to close down one refinery, we are in serious trouble!
