RE: One School System
      School boards across Ontario are passing resolutions stating their support for merging the four publicly funded school systems in the province into one school system. This is a most welcome, and long overdue, development. Since February, Ontario newspapers have reported that seven boards have passed motions supporting this improvement to Ontario's education system.

Serious problems with sewage
      Once again we in Shelburne are learning through recent articles that we are having unsettling issues at our sewage treatment plant. This is not the first time this has been brought to the light, with known past hydraulic capacity issues. This time is different, this time our storm water lagoons overflowed the berms, pooling and depressions occurred on and around the sewage treatment facility.

Congratulations in order
      The Citizen Mailbox of April 5th tells us about hunting in Mon Twp. and more about the dreadful accident to Ms Marianne Schmid. Understandably, friends and neighbours are concerned: Ms Proudfoot writes that she attended a Course run by Dufferin-Peel Anglers and Hunters Association - such a course is mandatory, and courses are excellent. A course is required before obtaining a licence.

'A stupendous achievement'
      Most Canadians witnessed the ceremony rededicating the Vimy monument to the 3598 Canadians who died in that successful assault on a stronghold that had defied the attempts by others for two and a half years and at the cost of a reported 200,000 lives.
