Wellington-Dufferin- Guelph Public Health has received a four-year accreditation award from the Ontario Council on Community Health Accreditation (OCCHA).

Meighan Finlay, OCCHA executive director, presented the certificate to Public Health at the Board of Health meeting in Guelph recently.

"The four-year award shows that Public Health is committed to and meets the standards set by OCCHA," Ms. Finlay said.

Accreditation shows how well the agency measures up against principles and standards set by its peers. The agency was evaluated on how effectively it is managed, and how well it plans, implements, and monitors its services and programs.

"Accreditation is a significant achievement," said board chair Lynda Davenport. "This award officially recognizes that Public Health is committed to excellence."
