Dubinsky named ACAA all-star

2007-04-26 / Sports

For the second year in a row, Shelburne native Julia Dubinsky has been named to a spot on the Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association conference volleyball all-star second team.

Dubinsky, a five foot-seven power hitter with Mount Allison, played a large role in guiding the Mounties to a 19- 6 record in ACAA regular season play for an overall second place conference ranking.

In the playoff finals, Dubinsky stepped up the pace to lead her team to a huge win over previous six-time former champions, the STU Tommies.

A former CDDHS honour student, Dubinsky honed her volleyball skills under the tutelage of both Royals coach Greenwood and Scott Armstrong with the ACTS Elites where she had been playing since 1998.
