Second raid nets $100,000 more in stolen property
Last Thursday, officers from the Dufferin OPP detachment and the OPP Central Region Rural Agriculture Crime Team executed a search warrant at a Mulmur township farm that led to recovery of more than $100,000 of stolen property, including a 1995 Ford Explorer SUV, a 2003 Honda CRF 230 off-road motorcycle, a 2000 Suzuki RM 80 off-road motorcycle, a 2000 Polaris Expedition 4x4 ATV, approximately 20 more power tool items, and two .22- calibre handguns.
Rosa Robeiro, 51, and Joaquin Robeiro, 47, of Mulmur were charged with breach of probation, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm and four counts of possession of stolen property Under $5,000. They are to attend Orangeville criminal court on June 4.
The raid followed a joint forces investigation involving Dufferin OPP, Grey County OPP, Metro Toronto Police Service and the Central Region OPP Rural Agriculture Crime Team (RACT) earlier in the month that led to the recovery of over $250,000 worth of stolen property.
Police arrested Jose Manuel Garcia, 48, of Melancthon on charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000.
