I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely congratulate the Rotary Club of Shelburne on presenting the 57th annual Shelburne Fiddle Fest. This widely-celebrated annual event continues to attract thousands to the beautiful town of Shelburne, to participate in North America's finest fiddle contest.
The contest has showcased remarkable talent from across the continent and has resulted in it becoming a highly-anticipated August tradition for the Town of Shelburne. Our community appreciates the tremendous time and efforts made by Rotary members to make this event the huge success it has become over the years.
On behalf of Dufferin- Caledon, thank you to everyone involved in organizing this outstanding event. I wish everyone a wonderful weekend and an excellent show!
Sincerely,
David Tilson, Q.C.,

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Shelburne, I would like to welcome everyone to come and enjoy all the festivities of this year's Canadian Open Old Time Fiddle Championship, as we celebrate our 57th year.
As Canada's Premier Fiddle Championship, we are proud to present the Schryer Family Show on Thursday August 9th. This is a once in a life time opportunity to see this award winning family perform the best of old time fiddle music.
If you have never attended our event before please accept my invitation to join us for an excellent night of family entertainment.
Our Rotary club is very excited this year to have contestants from as far away as British Columbia and New Brunswick, and of course Quebec and Ontario; making this a truly Canadian Championship.
The contest starts Friday and concludes Saturday night with over $20,000 in prizes!
We also encourage visitors to participate in all of the activities going on around town including Shelburne's giant Parade and Farmer's Market on Saturday. After the parade is over, you can spend some time downtown enjoying our Fiddle Jam Session in Jack Downing Park while visiting our downtown shops and eating places.
All the best and enjoy your visit to "Fiddleville"!
Yours truly,
Lynda Buffett- President Rotary Club of Shelburne

As publisher of Shelburne's newspaper, I find it a distinct pleasure to welcome contestants and fiddle fans to yet another Canadian Championship Old Time Fiddlers' Contest.
You might be interested to know that, in one way or another, four generations of the Claridge family have been involved in preparing annual salutes to what we regard as the greatest event of its kind in North America.
More than half a century has passed since my Rotarian father and grandfather took part in the contest's founding.
My grandfather, T. F. E. Claridge, was the newspaper's publisher in those days and his son Fred M. was the editor. Dad was on the committee that launched the first contest, and handled publicity for the contest for more than 20 years. Grandad was on hand manning the Press table every year until his death in 1964.
Today, son Alan is the guy responsible for putting together both The Free Press and Economist and its offspring, the Orangeville Citizen.
I hope one and all will find this year's fiddle festival thoroughly entertaining and the competition as scintillating as usual. Enjoy!
Sincerely, T. M. Claridge
