Crushers come up short in home opener
      Orangeville Crushers officially kicked off their 2007- 08 hockey campaign this past weekend when they played host to the Huntsville Otters. Although the end result was not exactly what they had hoped for, the Crushers put in a solid performance on the way to being handed a 3-1 loss by the Otters.

International card at Big Tyme
      Local boxing aficionados will have a chance this weekend to see some world class boxers when Big Tyme Fitness hosts the Four Nations International Boxing Tournament. The event, being held at the BigTyme gym on Faulkner Street, Sunday afternoon, will feature national team members from Ireland, Wales and Scotland squaring off against a contingent from Canada.

Bengals claw way to silver
      Over Labour Day weekend, Orangeville's Peewee Rep Bengals took part in the OBA "C" Championships which were held in Beamsville, Ontario. The weather was perfect and the team which had been practicing very hard all week was ready.

Peewee Northmen take Ontario silver
      The Boston Pizza Peewee #1 Northmen lacrosse team ended their 2007 season by bringing home silver from the Ontario "A" provincials. A regular season record of 17 wins, six losses and one tie, easily placed the young Northmen in the "A" division for the provincials with the top 14 teams in the province.

      KYLE KEMP and his mount, Johnny-B-Good, a four year old Bashkir-Curley go through their paces at the Canadian Young Event Horse competition held recently at Equus 3-D Farm. With the objective of identifying potential world caliber event horses, judges were presented with over 20 four and five year old candidates from across the area.

NCCP course
      Attention all coaches. Orangeville Parks and Recreation is again hosting an Introduction to Competition A course on Sept 29/30/07 . The cost for the course is $95 which includes a workbook and a manual. As of April 1, 2004 the old Theory 1 and 2 NCCP courses have been replaced by the new Introduction to Competition multi sport courses.
