Headwaters Health Care Centre's obstetrical team had a busy month in August. A record 99 babies were welcomed into the world at the hospital, including two sets of twins. This is the highest monthly number of deliveries in the hospital's 95-year history.

"Our obstetrical staff are to be commended for their hard work and skill in managing the high volume of births this past month," said Bob Baynham, President and CEO of Headwaters Health Care Centre. "We also want to thank all the families for allowing us to be part of their special delivery".

The previous record was set in July 2006 when 81 babies were born at Headwaters.

"The record number of births at Headwaters is a reflection of the growth of Dufferin and Caledon," said Baynham.

"Earlier this year our hospital joined the GTA/905 Healthcare Alliance, the collective voice of high population growth communities, to secure needed growth funding for health care services for our community."
