Headwaters Arts Festival starts Friday
The Headwaters Arts Festival, an annual extravaganza of local art shows, open studios, musical performances and hands-on workshops for the whole family, starts tomorrow (Friday).
This year's festival, which runs from September 21 to October 8, features everything from a juried art show, book readings and two new Saturday night concerts for adults to jembe drumming, Celtic knot design and tribal mask making workshops for the kids.
Most of the events and activities are within 30 minutes of Headwaters homes and are focused in four main geographic areas, the Hockley Valley - Orangeville corridor; central Caledon; across Highway 89 east from Shelburne, and Alton - Erin.
The Festival Art Show and Sale, which is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends of September 22-23 and 29-30, features more than 200 pieces of art by 46 local artists, including 18 who are new to the show this year. The Art Show and Sale is free to visit.
