The Orangeville Minor Atom AAteam participated in the Flamborough Early Bird Tournament September 14th - 16th and despite a slow start to the tournament, completed the weekend with outstanding results.

In game one the Flyers faced Oakville and lost 4 - 1 with Mitchell Elsley scoring the lone Flyer goal.

Perhaps the excitement of the 3 on 3 feature of the tournament was the momentum that the team needed to change the outcome for the following games.

Kyle Cunningham, Grant Girouard, and Tyler Nother represented the Flyers in the 3 on 3 competition, with Jackson Coates in net.

In the three games played, the Flyers posted a shut out for Jackson in game one, a shoot out win in game two and penalty shot goal by Nother in game three resulting in the Orangeville Flyers taking the 3 on 3 title.

The Flyers faced the Ancaster Avalanche for game two of the tournament with a commanding win of 5 - 1. followed up with a 3-0 shut out over Guelph.

Orangeville faced Georgetown in the semi-finals. Down 2-1 going into the third, Orangeville would score three unanswered goals to post a 4- 2 win and a berth in the final against Stoney Creek..

After three tough periods the game was tied 3-3 on goals from Kyle Cunningham, Jake Gamoyda and Mitchell Elsley

The Flyers rallied hard in overtime despite this being their third game of the day but the overtime goal went to Stoney Creek.
