The Summit Fitness Midget A Orangeville Tigers started their season by spending the Sept 28-30 weekend at the ten team Oshawa Lady Generals Tournament.

With only a pair of exhibition games and three practices under their belts, team trainer Patti Little was visibly nervous.

Lead by goals off the sticks of Kayla McClinchey and Erin Rayner with assists from Bailey MacLachlin and Jessie Mitchell, the Tigers shutout Guelph 2-0 in their opener.

Tigers new goaltender, Danielle MacKenzie rose to the occasion, collecting the shutout for Orangeville.

In game two, the Tigers defeated the West Durham Lightning, again by a 2-0 score.

Goals in this contest came from Andrianne Packer and Justine Watts, with assists going to Meredith Fairbairn and Mitchell with MacKenzie recording her second shutout.

In their third game of the round robin, Orangeville faced the Hamilton Hawks.

Down by one late in the third, it was Fairbairn notching an unassisted marker to tie the game at 1- 1 where the score would remain at the final buzzer.

Semi-final action would see the Tigers up against the same Hamilton Hawks team.

Team captain Erin Rayner set the tone early, scoring the first goal unassisted just ten seconds into the game.

McClinchey scored in the second period with the assist to Fairbairn.

Again it was MacKenzie holding the Hamilton offence at bay for three periods to record her third shutout of the tournament

The Tigers faced West Durham Lightning in the final game.

Assistant Captain Breanne McDonald scored twice, with Fairbairn and Packer each adding goals of their own.

McClinchey, Tori Bond, Courtney Sheedy, Devon Colmer, Justine Watts and Packer contributed assists while MacKenzie stonewalled West Durham to recorded her fourth tournament shutout.

This year's Summit Fitness Midget A Orangeville Tigers team members include Erin Rayner, Meredith Fairbairn, Kayla Little, Breanne McDonald, Kimmee Meigs, Melissa Reekie, Jessie Mitchell, Devon Colmer, Kayla McClinchey, Courtney Sheedy, Tori Bond, Adrianne Packer, Justine Watts, Bailey MacLachlan, and Danielle MacKenzie.
