Tyke Select win big over Battalion

The Arthurs Fuel Tyke Select Flyers improved their regular season record to 12- 1 with a convincing 8-0 win over Brampton on Saturday afternoon in Orangeville.

Liam McIllwraith continued his strong play, registering his fifth shutout of the season and extending his regular season shutout streak to 97:30 minutes.

Owen Robinson lead the offense with a four point night while Elgin Cooke picked up three points.

Dakota Zarudny, Evan Moore, Matt Bogenrieder, Jackson Arthurs and Ryan Bowie each chipped in with two points and Kurtis Cotton-Petersen, Devon Dunkerley, Joe Shoreman and Brendan Chapman had a point apiece.

Orangeville hooked up with Georgetown's "AAA" level team for an exhibition game on Thursday night.

Rebounding twice from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to tie the game 3-3, Georgetown would pour it on to regain the lead and take the game by a final 5-3 score.

Robinson had a two point game with Shoreman, Bogenrieder and Cooke each adding a point on the the night.

McIllwraith was very busy in goal and kept Orangeville in the game with a lot of outstanding saves.

The Flyers travel to Milton to take on the undefeated Winterhawks on Monday night and are then in Oakville on Wednesday to face the Rangers.

Orangeville will see their first tournament action of the year when they make the trek to Brampton over this coming weekend.
