A wonderful performance
I have just watched "The Nutcracker" performed live by the Canadian National Ballet and transmitted in High Definition at the Galaxy Theatre. If you were not there, you missed a real Christmas Treat.
The relatively small crowd was treated to a wonderful performance by the incredibly talented principle dancers and a marvelous supporting cast. In particular the Nutcracker and his Sugar Plum Fairy and the two pairs who danced the Arabian dance.
Granted the atmosphere was not quite the same as actually being there, but, because of the great audio-which picked up the footsteps and every nuance of the dancers, and the fantastic clarity-the Cinema audience was transported to Russia and the land of the Sugar Plum Fairy as if we were sitting in the audience, I found myself clapping after each dance.
I hope, in future, that more people will take advantage of these "Telecasts" and thereby ensure their continuation. Remember, NO long drive, NO finding a parking spot, and NO exorbitant ticket cost. ($23 for the show)
Have a fabulous 2008
