The Fines Home Hardware Shelburne Muskies played two crucial games the weekend, the first on Friday night against the Durham Thundercats in their barn and the second on Saturday night against the Georgian Bay River Rats at the Tank. Two wins would clinch a spot for the Muskies on the 'AA' side for playoffs. More ... The Sanderson Sports Orangeville Tigers Atom B girls' hockey team was crowned division champions at the 30th Annual Orangeville Tigers Tournament this past weekend. The girls overcame a couple of hot goalies and a previously unbeaten division rival to take the tournament title. More ... The Arthurs Fuel Tyke Select Flyers finished of their regular season last week with three wins to finish the season 20-3-1 and in second place. Orangeville started the week off with a trip to Burlington. After giving up the first goal 36 seconds into the game, rattled off three first period goals, one in the second and another two in the third to win 6-1. More ... CHAMPIONS. It was a busy weekend for the Tiger Atom girls teams. In the C division finals of the Tigers Sweetheart Tournament, Orangeville held off a determined Durham West Lightning in the final moments to post a 2-0 win (top). The Atom B squad made the most of home ice advantage in their championship contest, upsetting the heavily favoured Clearview Ice Cats 2-0 to claim top honours (bottom). Photos/MIKE MALONEY More ... This past weekend, the Crushers failed to seal a playoff berth after being edged 5-4 by Collingwood Friday night then going down 6-0 to Aurora on Saturday. They will again have an opportunity to lock up the sixth and final spot of the OPJHL Northern division this weekend when they host Villanova at the Alder Street Community Centre on Saturday.
