Muskies clinch AA playoff berth with wins

      The Fines Home Hardware Shelburne Muskies played two crucial games the weekend, the first on Friday night against the Durham Thundercats in their barn and the second on Saturday night against the Georgian Bay River Rats at the Tank. Two wins would clinch a spot for the Muskies on the 'AA' side for playoffs.

'Sweet' ending for Atom Tigers
      The Sanderson Sports Orangeville Tigers Atom B girls' hockey team was crowned division champions at the 30th Annual Orangeville Tigers Tournament this past weekend. The girls overcame a couple of hot goalies and a previously unbeaten division rival to take the tournament title.

Playoff bound Tykes
      The Arthurs Fuel Tyke Select Flyers finished of their regular season last week with three wins to finish the season 20-3-1 and in second place. Orangeville started the week off with a trip to Burlington. After giving up the first goal 36 seconds into the game, rattled off three first period goals, one in the second and another two in the third to win 6-1.

CHAMPIONS.
     CHAMPIONS. It was a busy weekend for the Tiger Atom girls teams. In the C division finals of the Tigers Sweetheart Tournament, Orangeville held off a determined Durham West Lightning in the final moments to post a 2-0 win (top).       The Atom Local League Team #1, sponsored by DA Gracey and Associates skated to a 3-0 victory over Beaver Valley in regular season action December 1st, 2007. Starting the scoring was Luke Newmaster, followed by unassisted goals from Isaac Fazackerley and Spencer Martin.

     ROBERT VISCA continues to add his touch to the scoresheet for the Orangeville Crushers. This past weekend, the Crushers failed to seal a playoff berth after being edged 5-4 by Collingwood Friday night then going down 6-0 to Aurora on Saturday. They will again have an opportunity to lock up the sixth and final spot of the OPJHL Northern division this weekend when they host Villanova at the Alder Street Community Centre on Saturday. Novice Flyers take 3-2 OT victory
      The Novice AA Flyers improved their play off record to 2-0 with an exciting overtime win over Caledon. The Flyers knew coming in that Caledon always seems to bring their "A" game when they make the trip up Hwy 10. Both teams skated to a 0- 0 first period with Orangeville controlling most of the play in Caledon's end.
