Playoff bound Tykes
The Arthurs Fuel Tyke Select Flyers finished of their regular season last week with three wins to finish the season 20-3-1 and in second place.
Orangeville started the week off with a trip to Burlington.
After giving up the first goal 36 seconds into the game, rattled off three first period goals, one in the second and another two in the third to win 6-1.
Owen Robinson led the way with a four point night while Dakota Zarudny and Kurtis Cotton-Petersen had two point games.
Elgin Cooke, Justin Stairs, Brendan Chapman, Jackson Arthurs, and Tanner Buck chipped in with a point a piece.
Back home the following night, Orangeville again gave up one up in the first minute of play only to bounce back and out score Ancaster 2-1 in the first and second periods and 3-0 in the final frame to defeat the Avalanche 7-2.
Joe Shoreman and Robinson paced the Flyers attack with three points each and Ryan Bowie, Devon Dunkerley, Cotton- Petersen and Zarudny each went on to record a pair.
Evan Moore and Buck rounded out the scoring with a point each.
The Flyers travelled to Brampton for their third game in three nights.
Putting in a solid defensive effort, they went on to capture a 4-0 victory.
Liam McIllwraith was as consistent as always in goal, picking up his seventh shut-out of the regular season and his 10th of the year.
Robinson had a two point game and Matt Bogenrieder, Zarudny, Dunkerley, Moore and Buck added singles.
Tyke Tidbits
Orangeville led the entire Tri-County Tyke league in goals for and penalty minutes...the Flyers will now play a roundrobin against Georgetown and Guelph, who drop down from the Select 1 division, Milton, Flamborough and Caledon....Robinson notched his 50th goal of the year at home against Ancaster.....Orangeville starts the play-offs this Saturday in Guelph.
