The Cenotaph was removed for restoration On Wednesday April 2nd by Smith Monuments of Toronto. Branches 233 in Co-Operation with the Town of Orangeville and Mayor Rob Adams have been working diligently on this project. The total estimated costs are $54,700 depending on the repairs needed to the Brass Soldier on top of the Cenotaph. The Town has committed $20,000, the Committee, consisting of Frank Lomack, Helen Fleming, Ken Manwell and Drew Brown have applied to Veterans Affairs Canada For a $25,000 Grant from the Cenotaph Restoration Program, $5,131 from the Legion Poppy Trust fund has been contributed as of September 2007 and they will be applying for further funding from the Poppy Trust in September 2008. Branch 233 has also contributed $1,000. The Memorial is scheduled to be back in place for November 11th, 2008,
On Friday April 5th, The Friday Night Dinner selection will be roast beef and will be served from 5 till 7 p.m. Drop in and enjoy a fine meal.
Our Saturday Evening Karaoke commences at 9 p.m. and ends at 1 a.m. and will be provided by Music Talks.
