Bosman letter causes reaction with readers

Every person is entitled to their opinion. Having said that, I usually read Mr. Bosman's comments, shake my head, and move on to something I consider a little more intelligent. This time, I found his comments offensive enough to respond.

What sanctimonious bilge. Mr. Bosman would make a good train engineer. His tunnel vision is beyond redemption. Every issue he finds fault with is backed by reference to scripture. I would put forth that you could back up any fallacious argument with such actions.

Mr. Bosman's attitude reflects thoughts that, throughout history have become infectious and inflamed the population towards the persecution of minority factions within society.

However, today, the general population is overwhelmingly more intelligent and well informed than in days past.

Firstly, I would remind Mr Bosman that the Bible also says that God loves all his children, not just those that Mr Bosman approves of. Secondly, I would remind Mr. Bosman that homosexuality is accepted not only by the good Rev. Bellsmith, but by the Government of Canada and, lo and behold, the Canadian Military, whose members are off in harms way shedding blood both straight and gay, in defence of his rights.

Mr. Bosman, you are entitled to your religious beliefs, but please be reminded that there is more than one religion in the world, more than one line of thought.

There are people who do not view life in black and white as you do, but realize there are shades. The most beautiful colours in the world are a combination of different hues. There are more things in the world than are dreamed of in your philosophy.

I would hope that most people in this world are more compassionate than you. Oh, and by the way, I'm heterosexual, happily with the same beautiful lady for 42 years.

Ron Bosman objects to the Rev. Bellsmith's acceptance of homosexuals.

Apparently Bellsmith has the gall to think that a loving God might actually be fine with one of his own creations. Heavens to Betsy, that will never do. On the other hand, if gays were to give up their sinful ways and "repent then Christ's blood will cover them..."

While this sounds a bit uncomfortable, it's apparently the only way that the gay community can ever get in good with their Creator.

Underlying all this is Mr. Bosman's idea that gays are breaking one of "God's commandments."

But which one? It's forbidden to murder or steal or commit adultery or even desire your neighbour's donkey, but there is no reference to homosexuality.

Perhaps Bosman has secret access to the previously unpublished eleventh commandment that refers to it.
