The Women Horse Owners Association (WHOA) "was formed to be a provider of services and opportunities for women horse owners" according to the leaflet distributed by the group.

With an initial meeting in January 2006, they have been meeting monthly ever since, organizing clinics, workshops, riding events, and, of course, webs site.

This weekend is their big event of the year, called Equi-fest during which there are several well-known instructors and practitioners. The event is geared toward individuals with or without their horses to come to learn and meet other enthusiasts.

There will be vendors and a lunch bar with the comment that net proceeds will go to local equine charities.
