Not all Americans . .

As an American, (not U.S.A-nian), I am finding the gratuitous insertion of snide comments about my country and president into his column by William Bothwell quite tiresome. The latest, a reference to a bad joke off the internet, made to look as if it were a reported fact, was particularly foolish. (See the column, "The naming game")

Mr. Bothwell, not all Americans are as incredibly unintelligent or obnoxiously proud or (insert other "reported" bad characteristics here) as you make them out to be.

As well, a lot of them show more charity toward badmouthing Canadians than you do toward my compatriots. One would think you could find a better way to put into practice the admonition, "If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live at peace with all men." (Rom. 12:18)
