Kings rule to drop Arthur 12-2
      The Orangeville Kings improved their Inter-county Fastball record to 7-1-0 thanks to a 12-2 romp over league leading Arthur on the Idlewyld diamond Tuesday night. For the Kings, this game proved to be just what the doctor ordered.

Northmen B's playoff bound
      It is play-off time for the MacMaster Pontiac Buick GMC Jr B Northmen. Unfortunately though, the regular season did not close out quite the way they had hoped. Sitting first in the OLA Western Conference - Mid- West division heading into the weekend, Orangeville had a chance to lock up the division title by posting a pair of wins over their last weekend of play.

     ORANGEVILLE AGAIN vied for position as the centre of the Canadian lacrosse universe this past weekend hosting teams from across the province here to participate in the Barry Burman Summer Shootout lacrosse tournament. This annual tournament celebrating its 10th year saw a total of 41 Peewee, Bantam and Midget competed over the course of the three day event which took over both the Tony Rose and Alder Street Recreation Centre's. Peewee Outlaws edge Halton 20-14
      This past weekend saw the Orangeville Outlaws rep teams back in action. First up, the Outlaws Peewee squad challenged the Halton Wildcats. Over the past few weeks, the coaching staff has made adjustments to the defense, which helped keep the score close and the game exciting.

      The Rayburn Construction Junior A Northmen continue to make moves both on and off the floor. This past weekend, the Northmen took the show on the road, coming home with not just four of a possible six points but with two new player acquisitions.

Vets beat Durham
      The Shelburne Veterans team pulled yet another rabbit out if their hat, coming from behind yet again again against the West Durham Patriots to win 9-7 on the road Monday night in Junior C lacrosse action. First period action saw the two teams which are currently tied for second behind Centre Wellington and Caledon, swap goals through the first 20 minutes of play.

Minor Tykes just miss tournament finals
      The Boston Pizza Major Tyke Northmen found themselves in tournament play in Owen Sound this past weekend and fell one win short from a trip to the finals. Orangeville opened the tournament against the host North Stars and turned a tight 4-3 lead going into the third, to a 9-4 victory.

     Photo/MIKE MALONEY WHILE THE NORTHMEN boys ruled the floor indoors, the Northmen ladies took over the field lacrosse pitch's outside this past weekend, hosting a full slate of regular season games. All age groups ranging from U11 on Saturday through to the Senior Womens division on Sunday made the most of near perfect conditions.
