      A list has been released that shows what the most popular names for babies among English-speaking North Americans in 2007. For girls, the top 10 list consists of Emily, Isabella, Emma, Ava, Madison, Sophia, Olivia, Abigail, Hannah and Elizabeth. For boys, the big names were Jacob, Michael, Ethan, Joshua, Daniel, Christopher, Anthony, William, Matthew and Andrew.

      There are arguably more thankless tasks in Canadian politics than leading the provincial NDP in Ontario. But not many more. How about NDP leader in Alberta or a provincial Tory leader in Quebec (if only they had such a thing), or for that matter, NDP chief in Prince Edward Island?

      Some changes come as a real shock and are really hard to accept! I had an opportunity to participate in a project evaluation in East Africa a few years ago. This took me back to Muguga, a community where Anne and I had lived for 4 years in the '60s. The community was 15 miles out of Nairobi along the Nakuru / Uganda highway.
