Lamb BBQ coming to farmers' market
A smoked lamb barbecue will be featured this Saturday, July 5, at Market on Broadway, the downtown Orangeville farmers' market.
Bert and Janet Nieuwenhuis will be selling fresh lamb, smoked barbecued lamb, shepherd's pie and lamb soup at the featured booth. Calling 519-941-0479 may place orders for market pick-up. Free lamb recipe cards are available for persons wanting to try out a new lamb recipe. Free smoked barbecued lamb samples will be served.
Market friends are invited to enter the free weekly draw to win a Lamb Voucher from Bert and Janet Nieuwenhuis's booth. Congratulations to Joan Gallant, winner of the flat of Downey's strawberries in last week's draw.
Market on Broadway acknowledges the volunteers of the Orangeville Agricultural Society, who served more than 500 persons free strawberry smoothies and shortcake last Saturday. A job well done!
Italian sausage makers and 15-year vendors, Dominic and Irene Rupolo, have returned to the market, and Helen and Peter Danchuk, freshly cooked perogy vendors, will be at market starting July 12.
Space is available for rent at Market on Broadway for persons who have locally grown produce and food products. Local groups, organizations and individual businesses may rent a booth to promote themselves in the Mixed Market area behind Town Hall and in Alexandra Park.
Market on Broadway Vendors are experiencing a busy season and are truly appreciative of the local and regional support that the farmers' market receives. After shopping, vendors encourage market friends to take a stroll up Broadway and experience the many fine restaurants and shops, including businesses on First and Mill Streets.
Market on Broadway, was winner of Headwaters Tourism's 2008 Best Event/Attraction Award.
