Delegates to Lutheran Church-Canada's eighth national convention, meeting in Winnipeg June 5-9, elected Rev. Robert Bugbee of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kitchener to serve as the church's third president.

Among the 110 voting delegates to the convention was Rev. Adrian Toms, pastor of Living Faith Lutheran Church in Bradford, who was chosen as one of six to represent the churches in the Toronto Circuit.

A resolution passed by the delegates gave thanks for the service of Rev. Dr. Ralph Mayan who has served as LCC's president since 1996.
