Crushers gearing up for season start
      As Labour Day weekend looms, about to mark the passage of another summer into the history books, the Orangeville Crushers are well on their way to begin writing some new history for themselves. Next Friday night September 5th, the Crushers will take to the ice of the Alder Street Community Centre, opening their 2008-09 OPJHL Junior A season against Seguin.

Soccer
     Over the past weekend on the soccer pitches at ODSS and the Alder Street Community Centre, Orangeville Storm Minor Soccer wrapped up the 2008 house league season with their year-end championship. A total of over 1300 players and coaches representing 74 teams in 10 divisions from Under 6 through to Under 18 took part in the event. Correction
      In the August 21st edition of the Orangeville Citizen, there was an error in reporting the 2008 regular season record for the Orangeville Northmen. Their official season record should have read 19 wins, three losses and 0 ties for a total of 38 points. Included in this record were also a pair of wins over the Six Nations Arrows (16-6-0) in both regular season games.
